Pisa came to me on the 7th of june. She was rescued by some people who found her by the side of the road. Unfortunatly Pisa had some injuries, she had been taken by a bird and she had a wound on her stomach and her leg.
Piza was in shock and only approx a month old. My brother bought her back home for me to look after and nurse back to health. She had been treated and the wounds were sprayed with teramycin which stops the bleeding and any infections.
We wasnt sure how long she would survive as she was so young and in shock. I was feeding her baby milk by hand and slowly she started to drink it. I stayed awake with her all night and kept her warm and tried to keep her as calm as i could.
Although she was limping she slowly became more active and was showing signs of improvement. The next day she was even more active and drinking the milk no problem.
However at 1:39am thursday morning i heard Pisa scattering around the cage and went to check on her. Unfortunatly she was in a very bad way...
I called my brother in and he came in with his girlfriend.. He took Piza and examined her and said that there was nothing they could do for her. We tried calling the nearest 24hr vet but got no answer..
My brother said that she wouldnt survive the night as the pain and shock would kill her. They kept trying to help her and she was fighting with every inch of her life. She wasnt crying in pain or moving much but still kep going. Unfortunatly a little while after that Pisa then started screaming in pain and went into a fit. She Died at 1:39am thursday morning.
Although i tried not to get attached to her as i knew she may not of suvived, i couldnt help it. I wanted to do everything i could to help her and to give her the happy life she deserves, but at the same time i didnt want her to suffer. Im upset that Pisa died but there is part of me that is glad she died as she is no longer in pain or suffering.
